Meet FRANCISCO
Francisco is a friendly and curious 13-year-old boy. Francisco gives endless compliments to anyone he encounters. If you spend 5 minutes with him, he will give you at least 5 compliments. He loves learning new things and helping in the kitchen. His favorite things to assist in making are grilled cheese sandwiches and mac and cheese. His favorite food is rice and gravy. He is shy, polite, and very sweet. Francisco is interested in computers, specifically hacking, coding, Minecraft, and Roblox. He also loves to ride his bike. Francisco sometimes struggles to remain focused and needs frequent redirection. He also needs his caregiver to model healthy boundaries for him. Francisco has been diagnosed with high-functioning autism, so he would do well in a home where he receives a lot of attention and hands-on guidance. He attends public school, but he cannot be left alone for more than a few minutes. Francisco receives various therapies and services weekly aimed at healing trauma, so his new family would need to be dedicated to consistently taking him to his appointments. Knowledge of the effects of severe trauma would be a plus. Francisco is currently in a foster home with 2 older male siblings, and that seems to be working well for him.
Francisco’s new forever family needs to be very patient and dedicated to meeting his needs. Consistency and structure within the home are of utmost importance. These things will help him feel safe and unconditionally loved, allowing him to grow, learn, and explore with appropriate oversight and boundary modeling. Francisco really enjoys being shown life skills by an adult, skills like working on cars, fixing things, cleaning the house, and mowing the lawn.
Francisco would love to be adopted. “I want to be a part of a family,” he says.
