Meet Damien

Damien is a truly remarkable young man. He’s very mature and independent at just 15 years old. He describes himself as “funny, smart, and strong.” He is on the quieter side, and tends to hang back and check things out before opening up. Once he gets to know you, though, he will show you how funny and incredibly sweet he is, always concerned about how others are doing. His foster mom said he is known to check on her often and bring her food and snacks without her even asking.

Damien is a very good student and makes excellent grades. He enjoys school and likes all of his classes. He is a teacher’s dream, always focused and willing to help out in the classroom. Damien’s ultimate goal is to go to college, but he doesn’t yet know what he wants to be when he grows up. His short-term goal is to join the band at his school.

Damien gets along with everyone, and when you meet him, you will see why. He’s a sweet, gentle kid who is so easy to be around. In his foster home is another child his age, and Damien gets along with him very well. They do everything together and are like brothers.

Damien likes to take walks or play video games. His favorite game is Call of Duty. Damien loves a home-cooked meal of fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, and baked beans, but whenever they go out to eat, he votes for Golden Corral.

Damien acknowledges that adoption is a big step, but he’s open to it because “it would mean finding a family that suits me, that I’m comfortable with, and that loves me unconditionally.” Damien deserves a family who will stick by him and love him for the amazing kid that he is.
