Meet Briana

Twelve-year-old Briana is eager to have a family to call her own. Like many adolescents in foster care, she has experienced losses that have impacted her greatly. Still life's disappointments have not dimmed Briana's hope to one day have loving parents who can help her navigate a path to a brighter future. Briana enjoys having fun and engaging with others – particularly adults. She has an outgoing personality and an inquisitive spirit. She is quick to offer help to her caretakers when it’s time to pitch in around the home. For entertainment Briana likes to play on her tablet, watch cartoons and shop for pretty clothes. She also enjoys singing, performing gymnastic feats, going to dance classes, and listening to music. A perfect day for Briana would include baking a delicious dessert, writing a short story, drawing a colorful picture, and taking care of her pet dog. She is adventurous and hopes to one day visit a Disney amusement park.

There is so much that Briana hopes for in life. She would thrive with parents who understand the importance of helping Briana with her behavioral, social-emotional, and educational goals. She would likely be most happy in a home that has older or no other children as Briana sometimes struggles with getting along with peers and coping with the emotional highs and lows that can come with interpersonal interactions. Briana needs parents who are willing to dedicate patience to her while learning how to best parent through the challenges brought on by trauma and loss. Briana needs parents who will support her and seek services that she needs to heal and flourish. Briana has lived through a lot, but she has even more to give as a member of a loving family.
