Meet Bonita

Bonita has been in foster care since she was five years old due to neglect and abuse. Her parents terminated their rights without a fight when she was taken by CPS. 

Bonita is very smart and a voracious reader, but she struggles with math and science. She’s a gifted athlete and loves to play basketball. She loves to be part of any team, even a family-team as she happily participates in household chores. While she loves sports, she also loves the color pink. There’s not much she doesn’t love!

Bonita has been placed with different family members a couple times, and each time the placement did not work out. Our youth’s voices are important in their search for a family, and they deserve to be honored. So when a family wanted to adopt Bonita and she felt like she didn’t fit in, the adoption was terminated. 

Ultimately, like many of our children, Bonita’s dream is to be reunited with her mom and dad. And while we still do not believe that’s the safest choice, we believe there’s a family out there that would allow Bonita to feel fully herself. A family that loves pink and basketball! Our job is to find them. Will you join us?
